The NEA have confirmed that they are investigating an eatery in Toa Payoh after a video went viral showing a rat scurrying around the food trays of a particular stall in Toa Payoh. In the clip, a few roast ducks can also be seen hanging near where the rat was scurrying.
It was reported in the media that the stall is Lee Kwang Kee Teochew Cuisine, which is located at Toa Payoh Lorong 8. NEA confirmed that they had inspected the premises of the said stall following the incident.
An employee who was interviewed said that the boss was informed immediately once they saw the rat, and that all the ingredients that was on the counter, including the roast ducks, were disposed off. The area had also been cleaned and disinfected.
