The recent food poisoning cases all stemmed from packed food. Little would anybody expect a huge food poisoning case to be from a wedding lunch banquet at a 5-star hotel, Mandarin Orchard. The lunch an eight course meal which was catered to more than 400 guests.
The father of the bride, Mr Jeffrey Sivalingam, 61, said that about four people from each table fell ill. From our calculations, that should be about 160 guests who fell ill from the lunch!
A spokesperson from the hotel claims that they are now assisting with the health authorities and looking into the matter. The hotel will also cease serving raw food from it's banquet kitchens.
This has been the fourth major food poisoning case since that November. Is there some kind of pandemic going on? Why are there so many major cases popping up all of a sudden?
