Li ShengWu, Son of Lee Hsien Yang, provided an update on his case. He noted that while the Attorney General of Singapore did not succeed in getting new rules to be retroactively applied in his contempt of court case. However, the case will still proceed due to a ruling from the court that the process service on him was effective.

He expressed that he was disappointed with the judgment but the Attorney General would still have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that his private facebook post somehow scandalised Singapore's judiciary.

Li Sheng Wu is now an assistant professor of Economics at Harvard University and currently resides in the United States. He recounted on his Facebook post that this 'surreal mess' has been ongoing since one year and eight months ago and wonders how much of our nation resources have been spent going after his mother and himself. He also ended the post by saying that his uncle, our prime minister, "seems quite happy with the situation".

We can only wonder how much time, money and effort from our nation resources has been put into a private Facebook post by him. Does it not sound ridiculous that our Prime Minister have to go through such lengths to get to his nephew and sister-in-law?

An update on my case: The Singapore AG’s attempts to retroactively apply new rules were not successful before the court. However, the court has nonetheless ruled that service of process on me was effective. The case will now move on to substantive arguments.

I am of course disappointed with the judgement. However, the AG will still need to prove beyond reasonable doubt that my private facebook post somehow scandalised Singapore’s judiciary.

It is now one year and 8 months since this surreal mess started. One wonders how much state resources have been spent going after myself and my mother? As far as I can tell, my uncle, Lee Hsien Loong, seems quite happy with the situation, even though it reminds everyone of his shameful conduct over 38 Oxley road.
