Many people are up in arms against Platinum Dogs Club pet boarding house for allegedly abusing their pets. Some of the animals that were entrusted in their care suffered infections, went missing and were not fed properly. A few days ago, crowds of people gathered outside the residential boarding place to seek redress for the poor animals. Apparently that itself became an issue.
According to a Facebook user, people were seen holding placards and standing silently outside the house. It is no wonder the police are also concerned about stopping this "unlawful assembly".
Minister K Shanmugam said that they may be dealt with separately. "Singaporeans can rest assured: there will be thorough investigations and there will be due process. Anyone who has engaged in illegal acts will face the consequences.
There are also allegations that some people, in response, have also acted wrongly, and taken the law into their own hands. Those allegations will also be investigated."
Some enraged netizens have responded that it is unfair as the authorities should be investigating the owner of Platinum Dogs Club instead.
First, the owner and now, some more Singaporeans. Great, shouldn't the focus be on the irresponsible pet boarding house rather than on Singaporeans who were seeking justice for their pets? Trust our authorities to make the situation worse than it already is.
One thing's for sure: There is going to be no happy ending to this.
