Singaporeans can be assured that the air and water quality are not affected by the chemical spill in Pasir Gudang, Johor. Citizens of Pasir Gudang were plagued by a toxic waste spill which caused more than 500 people to be sick.

People there are experiencing nausea, vomiting, breathlessness and have been admitted to hospitals. The severe pollution has caused a few to be in critical condition.

Following the incident, Singaporean authorities have checked and announced that we remain in the good to low-moderate air quality range. They also assured that the water quality will not be affected.

Authorities in both countries will continue to monitor the situation. Hopefully everything will turn out for the better.
