A skylight panel of Orchard Central shopping mall broke yesterday (23 Oct 2018) at about 2.20pm, causing pieces of glass to rain down on patrons.
Managing director, Mr Chan Kok Hong, of Savills Property Management, which manages Orchard Gateway, said a contractor was doing repair work when a piece of aluminium was accidentally dislodged, falling onto Orchard Central's skylight which caused the skylight to break.
Some shoppers witnessed some patrons who were sitting closer to the shattered panel had cuts from the breaking of the skylight. There is currently no news of anybody who were seriously injured.
