On 28 July 2019, Lee Hsien Yang made a post on his Facebook page, voicing his support for Dr Tan Cheng Bock's party, Progress Singapore Party, saying:
I wholeheartedly support the principles and values of the Progress Singapore Party.
He also added on that the PAP has lost their way:
Today’s PAP is no longer the PAP of my father. It has lost its way.
From the amount of reactions and comments from other netters, it appears that most people are in support of what he had said and hopes that he would join Dr Tan in the battle against PAP. However, he has made no comment on whether he will be joining any political parties in the near future.
