Beware of this perverted man! He allegedly harasses young women on the train by leaning on them while pretending to sleep. In a Facebook post on 11 Oct, JingWen Ho talked about her encounter with the man and his repeated tactics on other victims.
"I was on the North-South (red) line home. I was sitting on the 3rd seat from the priority seat, and there was an empty seat to my right. This guy, wearing a checked shirt, strolled from the previous cabin and sat down beside me. He started manspreading and (pretended to) fall asleep. Within minutes, he inched closer to me and was leaning to his left, to the point where I was literally occupying the left half of my seat to avoid physical contact with him. He was using his backpack to rub his crotch area up and down while he clutched onto his pants, as he was in the act of leaning towards me. It got to the point where I was unable to move anymore, and shifted to another seat where there was no vacant seats beside me. He pretended to sleep for the next 5 minutes or so, before he stood up and moved down the cabin to the next empty seat, beside the 2nd victim. Likewise, he executed the same actions towards her, and she too, moved to another seat".
The man alighted at Jurong East station after sensing that he was exposed. The first victim alighted with him and alerted the station staff about it, but by the time they got to the platform, he was already gone.
According to JingWen Ho, another victim who read her post told her that the same man had harassed her as long as 4 years ago. How is it that this pervert is still on the loose? Although a police report has been made, commuters may want to keep a lookout to prevent him from harassing more women!
