A fire broke out today at Rentokil Building at Jln Mesin this morning. Many netters went online to post photos and videos of the plumes of black smoke coming from the building. Netters also claimed to have heard loud explosions coming from the building at approximately 9.30am.
Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted to the incident and responded to it at about 9.20am. On a Facebook post by them, they claimned that the fire was contained to the ground floor of the building and was working with six water jets to keep the fire at bay.
