A Singapore bound Cebu Pacific flight from Manila was forced to make a diverted stop in Brunei early on Friday morning due to a technical problem. In a statement released by the airline, it stated that the aircraft was diverted to Bandar Seri Begawan at 1:45am after a technical problem was detected en route to Singapore.
The Airbus A330-343 jet was scheduled to arrive in Singapore at 2.05am. One of the passengers on the aircraft claimed that passengers was alerted to the emergency descent before landing in Brunei. He said that he was not able to get the full message from the pilot, but he was certain that the words "emergency descent" was used.
However, all passengers were safe, and are awaiting another flight from Manila to pick them up to continue on to Singapore. The airline did not say what the technical problem was.
