A Filipino domestic helper sought advice from the 'Filipinos In Singapore' Facebook group regarding her sleeping arrangements at her employer's house.
According to the FDW, she was asked to sleep at the bottom, just below some toilet pipes.
Due to the placement of the mattress near to the pipes, she will hit her head against them when she wakes up.
This is very disconcerting.
This does not appear to be outrightly abusive. However, all human beings deserve a proper space to rest as well as for their own privacy.
One hopes that employer's of FDWs in Singapore will do the right think and treat their FDWs with respect as a fellow human being.
