A 66 year old cyclist died after being the victim of a hit and run, involving his bicycle and a car along Yishun Avenue 1 on Christmas. The police confirmed that the accident happened at 7am on Christmas morning, and the cyclist was conveyed unconscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. He unfortunately succumbed to his inuries and died in hospital.
It was understood that the 26 year old driver of the car did not stop after the accident, and only surrendered himself to the police after going home and confessing to his family. Police also confirmed that a 26 year old man has been arrested in relation to this case.
