The lunch crowd at Asia Square's Food Garden were treated to something unexpected during just after the Wednesday lunch hour, as a section of the ceiling at the food court collapsed with a loud thud.
The ceiling collapsed at around 2:30pm, when the lunch crowd had thinned, so fortunately the collapsed ceiling did not hit or injure anyone. Witnesses said staff immediately cordoned off the area, as the whole structure looked unstable and might fall again any time. The management of Asia Square is currently investigating the cause of the incident, while admitting that a small section of the ceiling was dislodged at the Asia Square Food Garden.
The spokesperson also reiterated that staff immediately cordoned off the area, and that no one was injured in the incident.
