A 26 year old motorcyclist has sadly died after he was involved in an accident with a pedestrian, who was believed to have been jaywalking at the time of the accident. The accident happened at Hougang Avenue 9 on Monday afternoon, and it was reported that the pedestrian, a 16 year old boy, was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital conscious.
According to eye witnesses, the boy was wearing a school uniform, and he had jaywalked just before the accident happened. The rider then lost control of hisbike as he was trying to avoid the boy, and crashed. Photos in the aftermath of the accident show passers by tending to the injured boy, who was lying down on the road, and the rider, who was on the grass verge.
Police confirmed that the rider was taken conscious to hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries there. Police investigations are ongoing.
