Yishun have a bad reputation among Singaporeans, particularly as all the bad things seem to happen over there. But the SG Food Rescue group is aiming to change the perception of Yishun being a ghetto town, by introducing an initiative where they placed community refrigerators at Blk 508B in Yishun.
There are two refrigerators, which separates the halal and non-halal items, placed there, as well a shelf placed beside the fridge where one can find gourds and cucumbers. The two fridges, meanwhile, are stocked with vegetables. This initiative follows another one at Tampines, where residents stocked up a community fridge there with fish.
Both neighbourhoods hope that the community fridge can help residents there. Making Yishun great again!
