Singapore's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community marked the 10th year of Pink Dot on Saturday, 21 July 2018. Pink Dot is again held at Hong Lim Park, the only place in Singapore where one can legally stage public protests.

The grandson of ex-Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, Lee Huan Wu was also spotted attending the event. Lee Huan Wu called for Singaporeans to attend the Pink Dot festival last year when foreigners were banned from sponsoring or participating in it on grounds that they should not interfere in domestic issues, especially political or controversial social ones. He has since publicly came out of the closet.

Pink Dot in Singapore has been progressing well since the event was first held in 2009, at which time only 2,500 people turned out compared with about 20,000 last year. Despite the ban of foreigners sponsoring the event, Pink Dot still managed to gather a total of 113 sponsors. And while they were banned from attending, foreigners were also seen at the park outside the barricades with picnic mats.
