An SAF Warrant Officer died on Tuesday morning after a falling tree branch fell on him at SAF Training Area on Brunei. The incident reportedly happened while he was supervising maintenance works done by contractors at a helicopter evacuation site.

SAF issued a statement saying that Third Warrant Officer (3WO) Muhammad Sadikin Hasban, 33 years old, was hit at about 8:30am. Resuscitation efforts were immediately carried out by SAF medical personnel on the scene, and when he was on the way by ambulance and helicopter to the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital by 10am. However, all efforts to resuscitate him failed.

It was understood that the contractors were clearing vegetation at the helicopter evacuation site. SAF is investigating the incident.
