With the advice of the Cabinet, President Halimah Yacob granted clemency to a person convicted for the murder of Annie Leong, when he was just 15 years old. Ler offered the teenager $100,000 to carry out the murder. Ler was subsequently hanged following his conviction for abetting the murder of his wife.
The teenager, who is 32 years old now, will be subjected to electronic monitoring, curfew. He will also be provided with greater rehabilitative support.
