A man who was jaywalking across a busy stretch of road was hit by a lorry that was changing lanes on Thursday morning at Jalan Besar. Police said they received a call about an accident at about 7:40am that day.
In a video circulating online showing the accident, the man was seen crossing the open road, which had a few vehicles on at that time. He was walking at a normal pace in the four lane road, when a lorry that was in the second lane suddenly veers to the right. The left side of the lorry then collides with the man, who fell face first onto the road.
Police said the 64 year old man was taken conscious to hospital, with pains in his hip and right shoulder. Police investigations are still ongoing.
