Would you trust Scoot to bring you to where you want to be for your honeymoon? Definitely not me. And definitely not this guy's friends. But Ashley Mok still decided to #supportlocal (Singapore Airlines also local but ok whatever).
They made their booking a year in advance. However, they met with multiple reschedules and change in flights/transit locations. They were also downgraded from business class seats to economy seats as the new flight they were flying on did not have business class seats WITHOUT any compensation.
Mok reiterated the solutions given to him by scoot:
1) 100% refund - Useless because flights are so much more expensive at this late hour compared to November last year.
2) Rebooking of flight to days with ScootBiz flights - Originally, they suggested this BUT we would have to pay the fare difference from the current pricing. Absolutely ridiculous. Post complaint, they offered it at zero cost. Still unacceptable because we would need to pay 2 more nights of accommodation and take extra leave to fit their schedule.
3) We continue on the rescheduled flight and Scoot refunds 30% of the return flight cost + 200 per passenger in service recovery vouchers - The refund and service recovery vouchers barely cover the cost differential of economy vs business seats. This option tells me FlyScoot has zero interest in making their customers lives better, just covering up their mistake.
Welp. What a nightmare. I definitely wouldn't want my honeymoon to be ruined by such things. Not that he has a choice now. While I do believe in #supportlocal, but I guess you still have to pick and choose what local companies you should support. Hope nothing else goes wrong with his trip though.
