On the night of 8th December 2018, a huge fire broke out of a flat at Blk 527 Hougang Ave 6. Huge flames can be seen spewing out of the windows of the flat. The Singapore Civil Defence Force were alerted to the incident at about 10pm. The fire was extinguished by the SCDF using a water jet. Occupants in the flat evacuated themselves before SCDF's arrival, no injuries were reported.
