Singaporean activist Jolovan Wham and SDP's John Tan were found guilty of contempt of court. Wham was charged for alleging that Singapore judges lack integrity. He specifically said that Malaysian judges are more independent when it concerns matters with political implications.
It was then that Tan supported his allegations through a Facebook post.
Both parties were said to undermine the integrity of Singapore's judiciary, which may have negatively impacted public confidence in its impartiality. They will be sentenced on 7 Nov 2018. They face a maximum fine of $100,000 and a 3-year jail term.
As if it was unexpected.
