A kind Singaporean man is calling for donations to help a Vietnamese baby girl named Hoai. The poor baby suffers from a condition called Hydrocephalus. It happens when there is too much pressure in the skull, causing an accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain.

As a result, baby Hoai has an oversized head that is too heavy for her body to handle. Her body is twisted and spine is curved. Her skull is also swollen.

She is currently warded in Gleneagles Hospital where she has to undergo many major surgeries and treatments. They are definitely too much for a small baby to take. The baby's parents have paid more than $200,000 for her medical fees but are sill $80,000 short.

For those who are willing to lend a helping hand, "[i]t's very important that she continue her treatment and get the swelling in the skull down so that she can recover... Please help by making a donation directly to her account at Gleneagles Hospital through this link and entering her name, Hoai Thuong".

Poor child. Let's hope she gets well soon.

The self-entitled old woman Ferrari driver, who is facing charges for assaulting another motorist, has seen her appeal denied by the High Court, and is set to face jail time. The old hag had appealed through her lawyers to receive a mandatory treatment order (MTO) instead of jail time, but it was dismissed and is mow facing a four weeks jail term and a six month driving ban.

She had also requested to see her regular psychiatrist in Hong Kong while she was on bail, but the judge also rejected that, saying there are many other psychiatrists in Singapore around.

Apart from this one offence, she had also pleaded guilty to four other charges from various other incidents, including trapping a tree pruner in a crane bucket high above the ground, and stopping her Ferrari in the middle of Orchard Road after she was not happy for being honked at.

The National University of Singapore (NUS) have lost its top spot as the top university in Asia, losing its place to China's Tsinghua University. NUS also dropped into 23 in the world rankings, down one place from last year.

NUS had been the top university in Asia for three years running, before losing its crown this year. However, the NUS president was quoted in media to still be pleased that NUS are no longer number 1 in Asia, as he said that being second place still shows NUS are recognised among the leading universities in the world and in Asia.

Well done, NUS?

An E-scooter was caught on video bursting into flames at Marina Boulevard on Wednesday. The incident also triggered a series of small explosions, with eye-witnesses claiming debris was flung about 10m away.

The small explosions happened at 5:15 pm near the front of the Red Dot Museum. SCDF confirmed that they were alerted to the incident, but also said that no one was hurt. Investigations are still ongoing.

Some Singaporeans are just too ignorant. Facebook user Eddie Seah posted a video of a reckless man riding his PMD on the road. What's worse, he was fetching his child.

The incident happened at Yishun Ave 4. Even if the father was ok with risking his life, shouldn't he consider his child's safety? When an accident really happens, who will suffer and be blamed for it? Is it worth it?

Yishun again. When will the estate be great again?

Fake Halal certification alert? Facebook user "Mello Issac" exposed a food stall for lying to customers that it is Halal-certified. In a post in the "Halal Cafe & Restaurants in Singapore" group, she claimed that the stall used its hijab-donning staff as a front.

She said that the previous stall owner sold Filipino food including pork and guessed that the current owner did not even clean the shop before selling Halal food. "I took my complaint to the food court management and the reply I got was 'nevermind la see if they can get halal'... It's misleading and supports their motive of using other ppls religion for their own profit! Downright dirty!"

She has approached MUIS but said that it has not taken action yet. From the comments, the stall may be at NUH Kopitiam.

"I cannot stand by and watch old people getting duped anymore it is not my religious duty but a moral one. If it's not right someone has to speak out rather than have the truth be hidden by the 'devil'". There is no official notice on the issue but will people stop patronising it just to be safe?
