AVA have recalled all the iceberg lettuse sold at NTUC and Sheng Shiong supermarkets. The lettuce were imported from Malaysia, and were found to have a large amount of pesticide.

AVA also confirmed that this type of lettuce was brought in by Go Fresh Impex, and were for sale at only the two supermarket chains. The importer have been instructed by AVA to recall the lettuce, and the process is currently ongoing.

Both supermarket chains have confirmed that the lettuce have been removed from their shelves, and advised consumers to dispose of the lettuce if they have it in their possession.

Is there a need to make people uncomfortable around each other by forcing them to share painful stories about themselves? What good will it do if there is nobody to address the root of their problems? This was exactly what Singaporeans witnessed in "Regardless of Class", starring our very own men in white, Dr Janil Puthucheary.

Former Manager of AWARE Singapore has this to say: "There is a hunger, particularly, for everyone to share their pain, trauma, troubles - the more intimate, the better. The more revealing, the better.

I find this deeply uncomfortable, voyeuristic and outright unethical at times. It is claimed that vulnerability creates a “safe space”, and in my experience it often does the opposite because people are coerced to dig deep when they are not prepared to. These experiences at workshops or dialogues are often transient, this illusion of a connection with someone else in a controlled environment. Facilitators don’t take responsibility for the cans they open and when the illusion ends in two hours, we’re left to sit with the discomfort, confusion and emotional exhaustion".

It is no wonder the show was painful to watch.

Singaporeans, especially those in positions of power, have to understand that there is sometimes no point in forcing people to share their problems. Dialogues do not necessarily have to involve talking about vulnerabilities. More importantly, people who can make a difference have to learn to listen to people, embrace their different opinions and address their issues with practical solutions.

"We need to pay attention to the way people analyse their circumstances and take their ideas seriously - that is how we learn to be better. We don’t scapegoat them so we can collectively wince at the orchestrated spectacle of things we already know and encounter in our daily lives. Nothing the kids said in that clip is a surprise, not to anyone. This was a pointless, cruel exercise and we need to be done with this insistence on vulnerability. This fad is doing real damage".

People with power simply do not see that they are opening a can of worms. They cannot even engage in proper dialogues, how to trust them to listen and serve Singaporeans properly?

Nas Daily got more than he bargained for during his maiden trip to Singapore a few weeks back, in his bid to showcase Singapore to the world. He said that Singapore was a perfect country, with his upbeat video portrayals of Singapore showing a side of life in Singapore that most say does not truly reflect the reality.

In fact, he got so notorious for his video on Singapore, most Singaporeans agreed that his trip to Singapore was government sponsored, thus he needs to portray a positive Singapore to the world, and show that the Government is the best Singapore can ever wish for.

Of course, Nas Daily denied these allegations, and said that her did this trip and the videos out of his own money, and he had no help from any government agencies. He even went as far as saying that Singaporeans are not thankful for the good life they have in SG.

In a ironic twist of fate, the IMDA announced that he is returning to Singapore, where he is invited by the government body to speak at the Singapore Media Festival hosted by the Ministry and to mentor some video makers in Singapore.

So now, nas Daily would not be all saintly and say he came to promote Singapore out of his own pocket. He will be fully sponsored by the SG government this time. It's official, so he cannot deny it anymore.

An ebike caught fire at the ground floor of a two-storey Geylang shophouse on Wednesday morning, with an infant taken to hospital for smoke inhalation. According to Police, the power assisted bicycle caught fire but was managed to put out by SCDF officers.

But the fire had caused an infant, who was in the second storey unit above suffered from smoke inhalation, and was taken to KK Hospital. It was understood that the second storey unit housed seven people, and all were still asleep when the fire occurred.

it was also believed that the bike that caught fire had been on the pantry of the shop below the unit, which was a second hand shop dealing with electronics. The shop was yet to open as it was still under renovations.

The national broadsheet The Straits Times have suddenly found themselves in the news and the centre of a brewing storm, when news emerged that two of its senior editors have been disciplined for having an improper relationship with an SPH scholar who was interning for them over separate periods.

An internal inquiry was convened after the intern was hospitalized last week for attempted suicide, but is now recovering at home. The intern is now recovering at home. While the nature of the improper relationship was not discussed, it was believed both editors was alleged to have used their position to have an affair with the staff.

SPH have released a statement saying that they do not condone such behaviour, and the serious nature of this incident have led to both editors facing deisciplinary actions. One editor will be removed from his post, demoted and redeployed while the other will be given a written warning, have his salary docked, and redeployed. Both will reportedly no longer be holding editor posts anymore.

Be careful who you talk to. A NUS student got the creeps of her life when she was approached by a senior who made weird advances. She submitted an official complaint to her school but has not received an answer.

In April 2017, she was volunteering to feed cats in school when the obviously older man approached her and pretended to be interested in helping out. He managed to get her number but was reluctant to reveal his age or faculty. "There was something about him that was sending alarm bells off in my mind, from the way he tended to stare at different parts of my body and awkward speech patterns. I brushed it off as his personal quirks".

Although she made it clear that she only gave him her number for the cat volunteering programme, the creepy senior continued to harass her by saying that he wanted to make friends with undergrads in hopes of finding a girlfriend. Correction: A much younger girlfriend. He did not give up despite the girl's multiple rejections.

"He sent me a super long message about how he would make a good lover, in particular what appalled me was that he claimed he has had experience sexually and that because of this experience he would be good boyfriend material...

He further went on to explain why he was taking a masters in NUS, as he claimed that he previously had a fiancée who 'ran away' and the funds he was saving as down payment for a BTO flat were then used to finance his degree.

He also said how as a graduate student he was at a disadvantage in finding suitable prospects, and how he was determined to find one within the undergraduate pool, because he 'liked them young'”.

When confronted, he accused the girl of deliberately leading him on and spreading bad news about him. Even though he eventually gave up, the girl found out that he also approached other innocent students before, with the same intention of "preying" on younger females.

It has been a few months since her complaint but nothing has been done. She has taken this online to warn people and remind the school to do something about it.

"I hope that through this disciplinary action can be taken and he can receive counselling, to prevent him from continually going after young undergrads. I could have and should have taken action last year, and I hope it is not too late to put an end to his actions."
