In a video widely circulating online over the weekend, a car was seen crossing the divider at a bend and knocked into a motorbike and a van in the opposite direction. The video shows that the car driver was simply not paying attention on the road.

The first impact caused the motorbike to crash and the rider flying across the road, and the car subsequently hit the van behind the bike. Camera footage from the van clearly showed that both the bike and the van were traveling in their own lanes when the accident happened.

Police conformed that the 19 year old rider of the bike, who was a Food Panda delivery rider and a 7 year old girl who was a passenger of the van, being conveyed to the hospital with with superficial injuries. The accident, which happened at Woodlands Ring Road, also had the van driver and the girl's mother taken to hospital.

There were yet no reports on what happened to the driver of the car who caused the accident.

Vasantham is the channel of choice for the growing Indian community in Singapore, reaching out to more than 300,000 Indians aged 4 and above weekly. A new drama series 'KKK' (stands for Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithal, which roughly translates to 'One Eye Steals Another') is going to premiere on their channel. There were five teaser trailers posted on their Facebook page which has since been removed.

Netters questioned the use of 'KKK' as it also stands for the 'Ku Klux Klan', an American hate group that is known throughout the world for their atrocious acts such as lynching and other crimes done to terrorize the African American community.
This is what they look like:
Maybe Vasantham should do their research before coming up with acronyms as titles next time.

A python that was almost 3 metres long was caught at Block 166 Bishan Street 13 on Wednesday morning. Residents spotted the python, which seemed to have had a meal as its belly was huge compared with other parts of the python, in a drain.

Shortly after the python was sighted, it slithered to the block at Bishan. Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (Acres) personnel eventually managed to catch the python, with help from the police. Acres confirmed that they received the call about the snake at 7:30am that morning, and the python was eventually caught at 8:40am.

The python will be safely relocated to a more suitable habitat. It was unknown what the python had for its meal shortly before it was caught.

Yesterday, some local groups and activists sent a petition to our Mdm President Halimah Yacob to seek clemency for death row inmate Prabu Pathmanathan. Prabu was convicted last year for drug offences and despite pleas for leniency, was executed at dawn today.

Some Singaporean activists were disappointed that the legal system neglected Prabu's family. His mother, who lives in Malaysia, was only aware of his death row last week as his family could not bear to break the news.

For that, Singapore has attracted international attention for the wrong reasons. The UN Human Rights' Facebook has just released a statement which condemns Prabu's execution and most importantly, the alleged increase in executions here. It said that the death penalty should only be for the "most serious of crimes" and urged the Singapore Government to abolish death penalty immediately.

Should we really abolish it for good? Will there be a difference in the number of drug-related offences? Perhaps it still needs more thought, but for some angry Singaporeans, they are not going to take this lying down:

"Dear Singapore,

The longer I stay and try to create a life for myself here, the more I feel that slowly you are becoming a disgust to me. Like an almost rotten pile of food that I try so hard to swallow but I cannot.

Dear Singapore,

The words I say or write carries no weight but it’s the same for the President. Why then, have the president’s clemency when she has to seek approval or in your stupid law terms advise from the cabinet.

Dear Singapore,

It is truly with disgust that I accept that the ruling party is nothing but a bunch of idiots who just wants to feed themselves full. And that the president is nothing but a useless photo figure in government buildings.

I have wasted a decade of my life believing that I can make a change in lives of beautiful souls yet time and again, I am proven wrong.

Dear Singapore,

Enough is enough. You are not God. And I pray, so hard, that one day, something so terrible happens to this government that it will shake and break them into pieces.

Dear Singapore,

I am so FUCKING DONE WITH YOU!"

As if Singapore roads and sidewalks are not crowded enough, Beam, a company co-founded by former Asian Chief for ofo has managed to raise S$8.84 million from investors to deploy its electric scooters around Singapore.

It is reported that Beam will roll out its services in the coming weeks. They also plan to roll out the e-scooter service in Malaysia, Australia and South Korea. Beam said that customers have to pay $1 to start with the service, which will then cost 15cents a minute for the use, with no depostis required. Customers can locate the e-scooters and unlock them by using their phones.

With Singapore already facing issues with rental bikes, where indiscriminate parking and lack of space for parking is a big issue, this e-scooter initiative will only add to more of such issues.
