A Singaporean dude has taken proposals in Singapore to a whole new level, and other Singaporean men who are about to propose to their girlfriends now will find it hard to match it up, so should just cancel proposals for the next few months altogether.

While Singapore's favourite way of proposing is suggesting to the girlfriend to buy a HDB BTO together for those with money, or just get the girlfriend pregnant for a shotgun wedding, this dude has bucked the trend, or set the standards so high, that proposals from now on will be a creativity minefield for dudes to match up to. On November 5th, a guy by the name of Ng Zhao Wei proposed to his girlfriend Jessie. The proposal involved the use of 22 cars, a rooftop carpark facing his girlfriend's bedroom window that just so happened to be empty of other cars, and lots of colourful lights. The lights when seen from the girlfriend's window, spelled out "Will You Marry Me?"

The location given was Bukit Panjang Ring Road, and the dude had lots of help from his buddies at Elantra Club Singapore, as well as Nigthzconceptz, a lighting car workshop. And of course, she said yes!

3 men were arrested for setting off fireworks in Yishun last year during Deepavali. That didn't deter another two groups of people for setting off fireworks this year too.

The first set of fireworks were spotted at Race Course road, lasting for about a minute.

Straits Times reported that two men aged 29 and 32 were caught for suspected involvement in setting off the fireworks.

The second set of fireworks were set off at Yishun (yes, again).

When will people learn to stop doing such things?

An 82 year old man got into a dispute with a 58 year old man at a coffee shop in Serangoon, which led to the elderly man being punched in the chest. He died of his injuries later, while police arrested the 58 year old man.

On Friday 2 Nov, the 82 year old man was seated at a corner table with three or four others, when the 58 year old man, who was seated at a different table, made his way to the group. It was alleged that he did that to place a bet. However, witnesses said the elderly man refused to accept the bet. This led to a verbal argument, which escalated into a scuffle.

The 58 year old man, named as Hong, landed a punch to the elderly man on his chest, before onlookers managed to separate the pair. Video footage showed that the elderly man suddenly became weak from the punch, falling back into his chair and clutching his chest. The SDCF was immediately called, but sadly, they were not able to revive the elderly man. The 58 year old man was arrested by the police.

The full time NSF death in an accident during a training exercise that involved a land rover he was in and the Bionix tank is unfortunately the third tragedy that has struck the Liu family this year.

Liu Kai, who was posthumously awarded the rank of Corporal First Class died during a training exercise. Photos circulating on social media, but not confirmed by SAF to be the accident photos, showed a Bionix tank on top of a crushed SAF land rover. The late Corporal Liu studied in Presbyterian High School and Nanyang JC, and was supposed to start on his university studies at Singapore Management University.

Reports has emerged that his grandmother passed away recently in May 2018, while his mother was diagnosed with cancer in April 2018. The family also said that they received a phone call to rush down to the hospital immediately after the accident, but only found out about his death via an announcement on Facebook.

A 32 year old man, who was alleged to be working as a security guard in a condo located at Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3, was arrested by the police almost 6 hours after his involvement in a case of aggravated outrage of modesty.

The incident took place early on Sunday morning in a residential unit at Wandervale executive condominium, where the suspect works as a security guard. Police confirmed that they received a call for help at 5:40am, and officers from the Jurong Police Division and Special Operation Command conducted a search for the man. He was subsequently arrested at 11:40am at the carpark of the residential unit.

Witnesses claimed that there were more than 50 police officers and 17 police vehicles there on the scene. Police did not say why there was an unusually high number of officers deployed, nor gave any reasons why the Special Operations Command was also involved in the search and arrest of the man.

Who would have thought that Lee Hsien Yang will have breakfast at a hawker centre with Dr Tan Cheng Bock? The pair was spotted this morning at West Coast Market and Hawker Centre at Clementi West.

According to Dr Tan, they had wanted to catch up with each other but did not want to dine at some fancy restaurant. "I suggested we go to West Coast Food Centre at Block 726 Clementi West. Hsien Yang was all for it. He missed our local hawker fare in the heartlands. We had porridge and coffee with yu tiao. It was a good breakfast, not only the food, but the sharing we had on world affairs and the current state of politics in Singapore."

Many Singaporeans were equally surprised by the sight and swarmed to take photos with them. In a Facebook post, Dr Tan promised to have more breakfasts and lunches with his friends in the heartlands.

Dr Tan had served there under the Ayer Rajah constituency when he was a PAP MP. The former Presidential candidate, who lost out by a small margin in 2011, is well-liked by Singaporeans as the people's president. At age 78, Dr Tan does not promise to effect much change but knows that there is still a small window of opportunity for him to make a difference.

It is a surprise that he met with Lee Hsien Yang, who last appeared in the news for being embroiled in the Oxley saga. It remains to be seen what their breakfast was about or what it will bring, but for now it is good news that Singaporeans may have more opposition voices to defend us and fight for our future.
