Tissue sellers are a common sight in Singapore, and usually we will not bat an eyelid at them Most of the time, the good in us will demand that we actually buy tissues from them, what more a blind tissue seller. But for one tissue seller, she had a day she would rather forget.

A post on Facebook that is doing its rounds since Wednesday has claimed that one unfortunate blind tissue seller had her entire day's earnings robbed at Yishun MRT. According to the post by one Jessica Vincent, the blind lady was stationed at the Yishun MRT underground walkway, which links to the Northpoint. But on Tuesday night, a woman allegedly grabbed the blind seller’s bag which contained her entire day’s earnings and took off. The blind lady sensed that she had been robbed and shouted for help.

Another lady who was passing by heard the commotion, and gave the robber a chase. Unfortunately she could not catch the robber, but did manage to snap a photo of the female robber. The Facebook post also claimed the a Police report would be made. Let's hope the female robber is caught, and the blind lady gets back her hard earned money.

A young man, probably after a night out during the Labour Day holiday drinking with his buddies, was caught on a taxi dash cam standing on the road while cars are zipping by. As he was in direct line of the taxi's travelling path, the taxi driver honked at the man to get out of the way.

A natural reaction to most people would be to get out of the way pronto from the path of an oncoming vehicle. But obviously not this young dude. Thinking he was invincible like Captain America, he stood his ground, and when the taxi was forced to jam his brakes just inches away from where he was standing, he banged on the hood of the taxi three times.

The man was with another friend, and his friend tried to calm him down, to no avail. Probably the friend should have told the angry, but stupid young man how close they were to being knocked down and spending time in a hospital bed instead of a comfortable bed at home. Stupidity knows no bounds.

An NUS student who had filmed children in a toilet back in 2015 had his charges withdrawn by the Police. Police confirmed that the man was initially charged but the charges were later withdrawn under the direction of the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC).

This case was highlighted as part of the fallout of the NUS and Police / AGC action in the Monica Baey case, where it was discovered that this particular student was given a 24 month conditional warning. it transpired from the documents obtained for this case that the NUS student had filmed children in the adjacent toilet cubicle on multiple occasions. The location of the offences was not made known in the document, although it did not happen on NUS campus, but in a shopping mall toilet.

Police clarified that the NUS student was charged with a total of five counts of offences, but charges were dropped by AGC as the student had sought treatment at the IMH. Police said their reasons for the charges being dropped was that the student needed mental treatment, and sending him to prison would not be helpful. The student also had no prior convictions. The student has since completed his 24 month conditional warning period without re-offending.

How much do parents trust local kindergartens to take care of their children? Is it a must for teachers to be watching them all the time?

A helpless mother posted on social media about her daughter's bad fall at the kindergarten. According to her account, the teachers claimed that the child had fallen from a chair and grazed her left cheek. They made it seem like it was no big deal.

When she asked if her child was hurt anywhere on the head, the teachers confidently said no.

It was only after they reached home did she realise that her daughter's ear was badly bruised.

Shocked, she brought her daughter to the clinic and demanded an explanation from the kindergarten. She also asked the school to check its CCTV footage.

"They have checked the cctv and suspect that she fell outside shower area as opposed to earlier story whereby they claimed that she had merely fell and grazed the table. There was no teacher supervising the kids outside the shower area - all the teachers (only 2 of them) were in the toilet. no one saw anything and no one can tell me exactly what happened because there was no cctv outside the shower area. The school has admitted it was negligence on their side."

It is one thing to be away from the child for a moment but another to claim that it was not a big deal when the bruise is serious. While Singaporeans understand that kindergarten teachers do not have an easy job, why can't they adopt a better way of handling these matters? Is their attitude acceptable?

If every negligence is forgiven, how do they expect parents to trust them with their children anymore?

A father, upset that his son has been bullied for almost half a year and the fact that the school his son was in cannot do anything to punish the alleged bully, took matters into his own hands literally, when he saw the bully walked out of the school.

He proceeded to shove the bully against the wall, and said that if he can bully his son, then the man can bully the boy also. Unfortunately, his action of shoving the boy fractured his rib. The man, Tan Chin Tai, 43, who is a also registered adjunct teacher with the Ministry of Education, was yesterday jailed for seven weeks for hurting the bully, who happened to be his son's classmate.

While the action certainly did not justify the means, the man's son was bullied for a long time, which was about half a year before the incident. The bully had also threatened other kids who talked to the boy. Tan had also taken up the issue with the school, bu the school insisted the bully had anger management issue, and thus did not take further action against the bully. Tan had even wanted to transfer the son to another school. In fact, the bullying also continued even after the incident.

So while Tan was rightly punished for hurting a child who just happened to be a bully, the bully seems like he got off scot free, and will continue his bullying ways as no one wants to take any action against him.

The following fight is as epic as the one in Avengers Endgame, except that it happened in Singapore. Instagram user lucaslohhh posted a video of two men fighting with a plant and recorder.

The first angry man was seen swinging a potted plant and smashing it in the direction of his opponent. In an attempt to defend himself, the second angry man wielded a recorder. Yes, the musical instrument Singaporeans had to learn in primary school.

Some people gathered around but did not stop the commotion. It was simply too amusing to watch.

Soon after, the police arrived and the second angry man started to play music on his recorder. It was a strange but funny sight as people were awestruck by his odd behaviour. It was unsure if he was:

a) Drunk,
b) Trying to calm himself down, or
c) Charming his opponent into stopping the fight.

He was arrested anyway.

Thus ended the epic fight between Groot and the Snake Charmer.
