Norhidayah Norisham is a 22 year old Mechatronics student at ITE College Central. Her family background is complicated and money was and is still tight. Yet, this did not stop her from achieving a perfect 4.0 grade point average, and becoming one of the first recipients of the Keppel Care Foundation (KCF) scholarship.

In primary school, she distributed flyers to help support her family. She then became the main caregiver for her six younger siblings when she finished he secondary education. She took on various odd jobs including at a children's indoor playground, as well as a crowd mashaller at add-hoc events.

Norhidayah wanted to pursue her tertiary education after completing her 'N' levels. This was shelved for three years as there was urgency in holding down a job. Even then, she had to rush from her workplace in Jurong to her school.

She barely had time to study. This did not stop her from achieving perfection.

With the challenges and obstacles that came before her, Norhidayah could have easily given up. Yet, she didn't. She was determined to change her life and not let circumstances decide her future for her. She has shown herself to be a good role model for her younger siblings.

She is proof that not all Singaporean youths are strawberries.

Holidays usually means kicking back and enjoying at least a week of fun and relaxation. That's not what happened to a Singaporean couple who was holidaying in Bali.

What was supposed to be a relaxing holiday in Bali for Mr Eugene Aathar and his wife Ms Dolly Ho were shattered when they were travelling back to their villa on their rented scooter early on Monday morning. They were robbed by 2 men on a motorcycle, who had snatched Ms Ho's phone and kicked their scooter down. Ms Ho was using her phone to navigate their way back to the villa. Mr Aathar sustained minor injuries from the fall but Ms Ho fractured her shoulder, suffered a minor concussion and memory loss from the fall.

To make matters worse, insted of helping, one onlooker rushed to the fallen scooter, and rode off with it. And to compound matters, the villa, where the scooter was rented from, asked the couple to pay around 250 million rupiah (S$23,700) to cover the loss. They reportedly even sent staff to harass the couple on their hospital beds. In the end, Mr Aathar paid them 12 million rupiah (S$1,100).

Both the husband and wife got their insurers to arrange for a doctor to accompany Ms Ho back to Singapore as she was not yet cleared by doctors to fly on her own, as they don't feel safe being in Bali anymore. Ms Ho is now recuperating at the NUH.

Victor Lye is one of the representatives at Aljunied GRC, under the PAP. He was photographed allegedly trying to give some food to a bus driver for him to break fast (refer to the photo above). The bus driver allegedly rejected the food.

Do you think the bus driver made a right decision to reject the food? Netizens were quick to bash Lye as he should have known that you're not supposed to eat/drink on our buses. And also, how would the driver eat/drink when he is supposed to drive? The driver obviously knew better than to accept his food.

Netizens were also quick to link his actions to the elections. Asking if he is trying to wayang and gain more votes. However, he seems to be doing it the wrong way as netizens are also questioning if the government is allowed to break rules such as eating on a public bus just to gain more votes.

What say you? Is this the signal to an election coming soon? Is he just playing the long game? Was it a smart move by him?

A Grab driver has gone the extra mile, or more literally, when he offered to send a passenger's injured son to hospital at no extra charges. The kind Grab driver, named as Mr Ang, had picked up a passenger, who was fetching his son from school.

The son had apparently suffered a knoc when he fell in his school, Anchor Green Primary School. So the passenger wanted to fetch his son and sen dhim straight to hospital for checks. Upon hearing about this during the course of their conversation in the ride, the driver offered to send the both of them there, thus saving the the hassle of having to book another ride.

The passenger offered to pay Mr Ang for the second trip, but he flatly refused. The passenger took to his Facebook account to thank Mr Ang for his kind act, and online commenters have praised Mr Ang for his selfless act.

Jewel Changi Airport is not even opened more than two months, yet another unfortunate incident happened there last Saturday. It was reported that a five year old boy's slipper was caught in an escalator.

Fortunately, the boy only suffered a minor cut. Onlookers reported that the boy remained calm throughout his ordeal, holding back his tears as he waited for help to come. A doctor who happened to be there helped assess the boy. SCDF was informed of the incident, but when the arrived, the boy had been freed and he was already receiving medical treatment, so SCDF help was not required.

This was another incident to have struck Jewel since their soft launch opening in April. Two cases of water leakage had been reported, and since found to be due to sprinkler activation, while a driver was shocked to have been charged $3,100. This was since found to be because the driver's previous exit from the area had not been registered.

Is Jewel beset by issues even before they can reach their one year anniversary?
