Nobody collects cardboard as a past-time. Old Mdm Neo pulls herself up to collect cardboards everyday to feed herself and her intellectually-disabled son. She only gets half a cent for every kilogram of cardboards collected.

She receives $150 worth of help from Government agencies but that is seriously not enough. She already skips breakfast everyday and can barely afford to have two meals a day. If she has rice for lunch, she will just have bread for dinner. She does not just buy bread - she gets leftovers from a bakery she frequents.

Mdm Neo desperately needs help as she has arthritis. She can no longer have the energy to go out to exercise collect cardboards. Her son, who also has a skin condition that requires regular medication, is on the brink of being left alone. Amidst all this, they have not received additional help from any agency.

"Their utility bills are stacking up and the troubles for Mdm Neo sees to no end until she is contemplating negative solutions to end her life and stop her sufferings once and for all."

The average Singaporean fully understands the difficulties of coping with the high costs of living but Mdm Neo must be having it much, much worse. Let's help Mdm Neo and her son by contributing via the author below.

Fuck the agencies. Singaporeans will continue to defend and help Singaporeans.

A 33 year old male regular with the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) was found lying motionless at a stairway landing in a building at Kranji Camp II. MINDEF released a statement indicating that the man was found on 14 February at 5:10pm.

The Singapore police force and the SCDF were informed by the unit, and the man was pronounced dead by an SAF paramedic on site at about 5:30pm. MINDEF reiterated that the death was not training related, and that the police are investigating the case. No foul play was suspected in the death.

The name of the regular serviceman has not been released by MINDEF or the Police. Condolences to the family of the dead serviceman.

An ex police officer who had HIV failed to disclose to his sex partners that he had the HIV when he had sex with them. He had also engaged the sex workers for sex as part of payment for a condominium unit he rented out to them.

The man, who was not named, had rented a condo unit in Geylang at $1,700 a month, intending his partner to stay there. But his partner left him, so the man decided to rent out the unit instead for $80 a day. The offer was taken up by a sex worker, who intended to use the unit for her activities, as she had been arrested earlier that year for vice activities. She said that she needed to work to earn money while having to stay in SG awaiting her trial. The man than sought her sexual services, and told the woman he was a police officer, when he no longer was one. He also did not disclose that he was HIV positive.

Apart form the incident, he had also used the condo apartment as a brothel and lived off the earnings off a prostitute, after he also leased out the apartment to two other Chinese sex workers. He had also sought their sexual services without informing them of his HIV positive status. The man is currently awaiting sentencing.

What would you do if you see a man in make up eating his dim sum? Normal people would just carry on with their lives. Well drag queen Becca D'Bus was allegedly harassed by a group of boys while having a meal. The full FB post states

"This group of boys just thought it would be cute to police my gender by sending one representative to come over to me while I was eating, put his face in mine, and ask me to justify my choices of wearing nail polish and stained lips. They also thought it would be cute to yell the words "you gay ah?!" when I got up to pay at the cashier.
Do you know these boys? Or their parents or guardians? Do let them know that they have been TERRIBLY raised. Surely everybody knows it is rude to interrupt a fat person when they eat."

Becca D'Bus also shared a photo of the boys sitted at their table. Is this acceptable behaviour from our youths these days? Shouldn't we learn to live in harmony?

Hi editor, I am writing in to tell you about my friend who has met a near death experience during a static jump exercise last year. He does not want to write in himself as he is afraid of getting into trouble with the higher ups. However, he feels that this story has to get out.

He is a NSF whose unit went to Taiwan last year for a static jump exercise. This was going to be his last jump before he get his silver wings. After he jumped out of the plane, his parachute malfunctioned. His parachute didn't open up fully and he was falling without a functioning parachute. Luckily, at the last minute, he collided with his platoon mate in front of him and the chute miraculously opened. My friend was incredibly lucky to have just gotten away with a swollen elbow from this whole traumatizing incident.

After he landed, he was in a daze while his Enciks and other officers questioned what happened to him.

We only hear about the safety breaches when someone dies while in service. But these are the stories that get swept under the rug. Are we really doing the best we can to ensure the safety of our soldiers? Will things truly get better after the death of local actor Aloysius Pang?

Editors note: There has been too many safety breaches of late. Like our contributor said, we only hear about the safety breaches when someone dies. What about those that we do not hear about? Is there more that can be done?
