A Grab delivery rider had two bones in his right arm broken after he hit a kerb that was unmarked and looked camouflaged to the roadside at an area near Seletar Aerospace Heights. JTC Corporation has since cordoned off the unmarked kerb and are currently investigating along with NParks.

The Grab rider, named as 29-year-old Muhammad Iskandar Shah, was riding his e-scooter home after finishing his daily delivery schedules. It was while he was making a right turn and trying to cross the road at a pedestrian crossing along Seletar Aerospace Heights that he crashed into the unnoticeable kerb. The kerb was the same colour as the pavement, making it a hazard and difficult to spot even though lights were shined in the area.

Although he was travelling within the speed limit, the impact of the unexpected crash sent Iskandar flying headfirst. he tried to break his fall using his arms, but landed hard on them instead, resulting in the broken bones. He managed to call for help, and was later taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, and given 36 days of MC.

A post that was shared by a netizen about his ex-army friend has gone viral, describing how a once healthy father of three young kids was suddenly plunged into a world of hardship, as he was left jobless for a year after suffering debilitating pain from a minor stroke.

The man, named as Sumantrie, was also forced to pull out his three kids from school as the family had outstanding school fees that accumulated as the family cannot afford to pay them. The story goes that Sumantrie, who is in his mid-30s, suffered a minor stroke while working as a container specialist in 2017. He is married with kids aged 7 years old, 5 years old and 4 years old. The stroke left Sumantrie with the right side of his body suffering nerves damage, which makes it difficult for him to move and he has no strength on the right side of his body. He had also lost weight from a quite hefty 87kg to 42kg.

Sumantrie was asked to leave his job due to poor attendance and multiple MCs, even though he had completed all the tasks given to him. His monthly incentives was also put on hold and never paid put to him. He has since been left jobless, and the family gets by with help from family members and friends.

The post also stated that they had approached their MP and government agencies for help, but is still awaiting the assistance.

These days, people tend to multi-task while they eat. Be careful, for you may be chewing on something you don't want to swallow.

A man found a foreign metal piece in his food from Kimly Seafood in Yishun. He had ordered zichar dishes such as Sambal sliced fish rice and white bee hoon via GrabFood delivery a few days ago.

The metal piece resembles a thick wire bent into a square shape with a coil at the end of it. It is definitely not what you will find in zichar.

Thankfully, the man was alert enough and did not consume it. He has already complained to GrabFood about the nightmare. They have since apologised and will hopefully look into it.

Ew.

Don't play the foreigner card. An unreasonable foreigner had nasty things to say about a local cleaning company after engaging it to clean her sofa. By the way, the sofa is gross.

She claimed that the cleaning company cheated her by charging $100 when the "market rate" is merely a few dollars per hour. To make her $100 worth, she forced the cleaners to work for at least 4 hours even though they already completed the job within an hour or two.

The cleaning company could not tolerate her behaviour and made public her snobbish and unreasonable attitude on Facebook.

In a post today, Ocean Cleaning Services vouched for its workers by saying that they have had good reviews over the past years. It denied that it was out to cheat her money. While other cleaning services may charge hourly rates, Ocean charges a flat $100 rate for cleaning her sofa. Unfortunately, the woman did not buy their explanation despite them repeatedly trying to tell her that it will cost $100 regardless.

And there's more. She apparently gave them the wrong address, changed the timing at the last minute, made them reschedule and was rude to its cleaners.

"1. You gave us the wrong address and make us go round and round and you change the timing 30min before the appointment from 12pm to 2.30pm to make me reschedule my other appointment the whole day

2. After the cleaning done you telling me in singapore cleaning is hourly rate and few dollar and you are will only pay $100 only they clean 4 hour which is $12 per hour as you described.

3. We did inform you the cleaning process take about 1-2 hour for your sofa and the charges is $100 and not hourly charges.

4. You insult us by your so called 'cheater' and claim we bully you as a foreigner, please look at the way you talk and the abusive language.

Lastly you handing over your flat at at the day we clean the sofa and heading back to your country so i guess maybe you are just creating some nonsense just to save the $100 bucks for yourself, still i thank you for posting us in your facebook and help us to promote how well we clean your sofa, and i wish you all the best. Once again i thank you for wasting few hours of our time and i sincerely apologise to those customer who is affected by our delay and changing time last min."

No. A customer is not always right. Look who has the last laugh now?

LTA and BCA have issued a joint statement that indicated that the overhead bridge at Jurong that was hit by a crane on top of a trailer is structurally safe. The statement said that the structural integrity of the bridge was not compromised in the crash, and that it was safe for public use.

The BCA had appointed one of its engineers to inspect the bridge together with a professional engineer appointed by LTA. Both independently assessed that the bridge is safe for use. The collision had only damaged localised areas of the bridge, and LTA is now repairing the damage.

The crane had apparently hit the underside of the bridge at Jurong Town Hall on Saturday night, but there were no injuries reported. The bridge was at first closed to public use after the accident, but has now since been reopened.

A bus passenger with a history of assaulting people on buses have been sentenced to nine weeks in jail for another two unprovoked attacks on two different SMRT bus drivers. Nurhidayat Selamat, 27 years old, committed these cowardly acts on two consecutive days on bus service 171 travelling to Yishun.

In the first incident on February 8, he boarded the bus from Bukit Panjang Road, intending to go to Yishun, when he paid a fare of $1. When the bus driver told him that this was insufficient, he became agitated and started arguing with the driver. He then suddenly punched the driver on his face, alighted and walked away. The second incident happened on the very next day. Again, Nurhidayat took bus 171 from Bukit Panjang, with the intention of going to Yishun. This time, he placed a $2 note in the fare machine. this time, a different driver said this was still 30cents less than the actual fare. Nurhidayat then turned violent once more, and started hitting the acrylic panel behind the driver's seat, and hurling insults in Malay. He then punched the driver on his arm. Police were finally called in, and he was subsequently arrested.

Nurhidayat had been previously fined in April 2016 for punching a fellow bus passenger. Someone should tell hi not to  take buses anymore.
