Police have confirmed that the Maserati driver, who has been in the news lately for his reckless behaviour in trying to overtake a lorry, and subsequently failing and mounting a kern on the other side of the road, have been arrested.

The driver of the Maserati with plate number SKK 9192 G had sped forward after mounting the kerb, to overtake the lorry and forced it to stop by doing a police style block. In doing so, the Maserati ignored oncoming traffic that had the right of way, since he was in the wrong lane. Police confirmed that a man, aged 49, was arrested in connection with the case.

Police investigations are ongoing. Apparently, this was not the first time the same Maserati was involved in such a case. The same Maserati had also been caught on video tailgating a car, before eventually overtaking in a merging lane.Yet another incident showed the same Maserati honking a bike from behind before overtaking it.

High SES, low IQ.

Who says nobody can challenge Singapore's constitution? Local DJ Johnson Ong aka Big Kid has filed a court challenge against Section 377A, the law which criminalises consensual gay sex between men in Singapore.

Although a previous legal challenge in 2014 failed, Johnson Ong and his lawyer, Eugene Thuraisingam, will be presenting scientific and medical evidence to prove their point that sexual orientation is innate. If it is true, Section 377A may be deemed unconstitutional.

Singaporeans have been debating about whether or not to repeal Section 377A in the recent weeks after India's Supreme Court struck down a similar law in their country.

According to a viral post, it is bullshit if the Government claims that Section 377A is purely symbolic but not enforced. "Not enforcing the law but leaving it there for keepsakes creates the moral environment in which these people can enforce the law on the state's behalf: by censoring our media and our art, by deciding what books are not in the national interest, by governing sex education, by reporting people to the police at Pink Dot. They are far more creative, zealous, and far-reaching enforcers of homophobic law than the state could ever be...

I'm very angry that my elected officials have outsourced this debate to online echo chambers like this one instead of the parliament to which we've elected them. I'm very angry that the strongest opposition party we have has no real position on the subject."

So perhaps it's a good thing that someone dares to challenge it, regardless of the consequences. It is still a good start.

The Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre opened to big fanfare in January this year. Located opposite White Sands, Pasir Ris residents were eagerly anticipating the opening of the centre. It offered a variety of traditional and hipster food. Residents then reportedly said that the Hawker Centre was worth the wait, as the food was cheap and good too.

The Hawker centre had 42 stalls located on 2 floors. But now, nine months after the launch, already at least 10 stalls have folded. Many others are reportedly considering closing their stalls too. Problems cited were the high costs they had to bear. Among the cost they faced were the rental costs, as well as other charges imposed by the operators NTUC Foodfare.

So what happened? Why did the NTUC Foodfare charging the stall owners impossibly high costs? Our PM said a way to alleviate high cost of living is to eat at hawker centres. But if stall owners could not even afford to pay the cost of managing the stall, then how can others offset the high cost of living as suggested by our dear PM?

The worst kept secret is finally out. Police have now finally started investigations against oBike Singapore for allegedly misappropriating money from their Singapore operations. It has also emerged from this investigations that about $10m was transferred fromt the Singapore operations to their Hong Kong operations just before they shut down their Singapore operations.

This police investigation was finally revealed by Law Minister K Shanmugam when he was asked in Parliament by the Worker's Party NCMP Dennis Tan.

Question was, why did it take so long for the Police investigations to be made public, when the offence was in June this year. It was very obvious to the public that something wrong was ongoing when oBike shuttered its operations here suddenly, owing their Singapore users about $8.9m.

Watch out, someone created a petition to ban nose-picking in Singapore! Sadly, it is just a satire about the LGBT debate in our nation. If only it was real, it will be such an entertainment!

The petition, which was addressed to the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, argues that nose-picking, or Orpisai, tarnishes Singapore's reputation as a clean and hygienic country.

"We need to send a message that our society is still largely pro good public manners. As such we should have a law that bans nose picking, but without intruding upon the privacy of nose pickers. As such we should have a law that we will not enforce. Call it Section 0135A1. Because these numbers and alphabets collectively resemble the word "Obisai" the most, so people can remember it easily."

Four people have signed it. Why nobody support?

Nevermind la, no need enforce also can. Got law but never enforce = democratic anyway.

There has been much commotion lately about the repeal of Section 377A in Singapore. This comes after the Indian Supreme Court struck down the same law in their country. Locally, Section 377A is a law that still exists. It criminalises consensual sex between men but according to the Government, is not actively enforced. Netizens from the pro- and anti-LGBT camps went up in arms and started petitions to drive their own causes.

At least two petitions were created by pro-LGBT supporters. They called for the Government to grant the minority LGBT community basic human rights and protect them from being trampled on by the majority who may oppose same-sex unions.

"This is a petition against unjust discrimination and a movement for a truly inclusive and diverse Singapore, not a divisive and intolerant one. We believe that it is time to repeal Section 377A of the Penal Code and that this repeal would be based on justice and equality, the core tenets of our Singaporean psyche."

The change.org petition already surpassed 10,000 signatories and was sent to Lee Hsien Loong, K Shanmugam, Tan Chuan-Jin and the Prime Minister's Office yesterday.

Meanwhile, more conservative Singaporeans also stepped up to create a petition to keep Section 377A. They empasised the importance of family values and marriage between men and women. They feared that the repeal of Section 377A will help normalise homosexuality in Singapore and make that the societal norm. To date, the petition has already gathered a whopping 88,000 signatures.

With the election looming in the next couple of years, do you think the Government will do anything to repeal Section 377A? How will they remain neutral while pleasing both sides? Do you think keeping quiet and taking the middle ground is the best way forward?
