What can go wrong will go wrong. A baby boy almost lost his life when his neck got strangled by a cord. The 3-year-old boy was playing on the bed when he casually wrapped his neck with the cord from the window blinds. He then walked down the ladder while the cords tightened around his neck.

The poor boy was helpless. He scratched at his skin as he could not get a grip on the thin cords that were suffocating him.

"At the last attempt to get free he jumped to come get us and that very jump saved his life! The cord snapped and freed him! We heard a loud thud (his jump) and then his loud scream! This was not just any scream it is one I have never heard in my life and it will forever be ringing in my ears."

His parents then brought him to the hospital. According to the doctor, the boy was very lucky to have escaped as the cords were never meant to snap so easily.

"NO CORDED BLINDS ARE SAFE! They now sell cordless blinds and they are worth every penny...

These accidents can be prevented let’s take action now! You can never be too safe in your own home."

Parents, it is time to take a look around the house and do some serious spring cleaning. These hazards do not spark joy.

Some students of Nanyang Girls High School were left highly uncomfortable, after a female teacher unbuttoned their shirts to check the colour of their bra straps during an attire check. The female teacher was reported to be the Secondary 4 year head.

She was forced to apologise to the parents and the girls affected, after most of them took to social media to voice their unhappiness at the forced checks. The school has a policy where the girls can only wear white or beige coloured undergarments. It was reported by a parent of one of the student involved that the female teacher had been conducting the attire check on behalf of the male form teacher. She was alleged to have undone the collar buttons of the students' school uniforms and pulled out their bra straps during the checks.

This led to the principal of the school to send emails to apologise to the parents of the students. The female teacher had also publicly apologised to the students affected. Most of the students post on this incident have also since been removed.

The Police has arrested a 29-year-old postman for mishandling Singaporeans' mail items. Netizen Alyce Kathlyn had posted photos of many unopened letters discarded in a rubbish bin in Ang Mo Kio.

SingPost has apologised on behalf of the postman's unprofessional behaviour but did not reveal his reasons for doing that.

"As Police investigations are ongoing, we are unable to comment further, but would like to thank Facebook user Alyce Kathlyn for highlighting this case and allowing us to look into this.

SingPost unreservedly apologises to the residents of the following blocks:

1. Blks 612-619 Ang Mo Kio Ave 4
2. Blks 175-178 Ang Mo Kio Ave 4
3. Blks 179-182 Ang Mo Kio Ave 5
4. Blks 611 Ang Mo Kio Ave 5"

Fail mail. How are they going to convince Singaporeans to trust them again?

Orchard Road may have chickens but not pythons. It is not everyday that you see a 3m-long python appear in the middle of Orchard. According to some Facebook posts, the humongous snake was seen outside Marriott Tangs, hiding behind a dustbin.

It is so strong, at least 4 pest control guys were needed to catch it. Onlookers were heard exclaiming while the python was trying to escape. One of the pest control guys got bitten and received immediate first aid.

An onlooker said: "After the snake was properly secured and handled and no one got hurt, well except for the worker with a snake bite, and I can’t say as to what the extent of his injuries but the blood I saw on the floor was quite worrying for someone like me who is afraid of the sight of bloooood."

"A snake suddenly appearing in the heart of the city, near Marriot Hotel is a rare occurence. It is such a spectacle to me... Hope the snake will be back to where it belongs."

What an eventful day.

Some Ang Mo Kio residents would not be receiving some of their letters anytime soon, as a reseident have found some 30 - 40 unopened letters dumped inside a rubbish bin. The unopened letters includes official letters from Government bodies, and a package that appeared to consist of goods.

According to the person who posted the find online, this was not the first time letters and parcels from SingPost have been found in the rubbish bin in Ang Mo Kio. The person also indicated that the thrown letters consisted of letters from LTA and CHAS, as well as an unopened parcel. SingPost quickly responded to the incident, asking for the location of where the letters were found, and indicating that they will be investigating the incident.

This followed soon after SingPost had issued an apology on January 14 for its lack of service standards. SingPost might have to apologize again.

Yet another data leak was discovered involving medical records of patients in SG. This time round, 14,200 people with HIV who have been tested in SG have been released online, after having been illegally obtained by an American fraudster, Mikhy Farrera-Brochez.

Mikhy Farrera-Brochez had apparently obtained this information from his live in boyfriend, who happened to be the head of MOH's National Public Health Unit from March 2012 to May 2013, Dr Ler Teck Siang, a Singaporean. His position meant Ler had access to the HIV Registry in Singapore. Farrera-Brochez was also tested positive for HIV, but he had swapped his blood sample to that of Ler to test negative for HIV, so that he can obtain a work permit in Singapore. Farrera-Brochez got a job as a polytechnic lecturer here, but was jailed in 2017 for his fraud and several other drug related offences. He has since been deported, meaning he has not faced any charges for the data leak.

The breach had occurred many years ago, since Farrera-Brochez had been jailed and deported back in 2017, but MOH only found out about the leak last Tuesday.
