This is a typical Singaporean bird.

Bird is hungry.

Bird sees bread.

Bird does not see transparent plastic cover.

Bird pecks at cover.

Bird does not get bread.

Bird flies away disappointed.

This is a typical Singaporean bird. It is a poor and hungry bird that cannot satisfy its basic needs, much like us typical Singaporeans.

Btw, the woman who recorded the video tried to warn the shop assistant about the bird but was strangely ignored. Seems like she does not care about hygiene standards at all?

Just after an e-bike caught fire in Woodlands, another fire broke out at a HDB flat in Simei St 11.

According to the video by Zai Zaim, huge plumes of smoke was seen billowing from a HDB unit. The fire appeared to have happened at the lower storeys and was rapidly rising up to the rest of the units.

It is uncertain what caused the fire but let's hope everybody is safe from it!

A female accountant by the name of Huang Huiling, 48, was sentenced to seven months of jail time on 21 Aug 2018 (Tuesday). Huang rejected taking a breathalyzer test and made a huge scene which lasted for about a hour, during which she verbally abused a police officer.

The incident occurred at about 3am on 9 April 2016 at the multi-storey carpark of Block 510A Jelapang Road. A police sergeant went to investigate what was suspected to be a case of drink-driving involving Huang after residents complained of a commotion from the carpark. Huang was uncooperative and thus the sergeant called for backup. Two colleagues, including a female sergeant came along. The female sergeant tried to administer the breathalyzer test to Huang. However, Huang refused to cooperate, reportedly claiming that she had no experience in oral sex and did not know how to 'blow'.

Huang continued her tirade and began verbally abusing the female sergeant, telling the sergeant that she is 'worse than a prostitute'. Huang also allegedly spat at the senior officer's face while entering the police car.

Huang currently faces 21 charges, including those under the Protection from Harassment Act and Road Traffic Act. She pleaded not guilty to seven of these charges. Huang also plans to appeal against her conviction. She claimed that a break-up with her boyfriend had caused her to drown her sorrows in alcohol, hence resulting in the incident.

Do you think she deserves to be convicted?

We have received feedback of a video circulating on social media regarding the storage of non-halal meat in a halal dedicated storage chiller. The video was taken at our North Point City store on 13 August. There are currently 2 separate chillers in the store. The non-halal chiller was being serviced that morning and some meat items were wrongly stored in the halal chiller for 30 minutes by our supplier. We have strict guidelines in managing halal products and this is not in accordance to our practice. We do not condone such action and will follow-up with the supplier.

While there was no physical contact between the products, we have nonetheless discarded all the affected halal items. A proper cleaning of the chiller was also done in accordance to the ritual advised by MUIS.

We apologize for the inconvenience and concerns caused in this isolated incident. We have also reminded all staff as well as our suppliers to adhere to our guidelines when handling halal products.

The Tampines resident, who made the steps outside his ground floor HDB unit into a koi pond, suddenly found himself the centre of a storm, just because a netizen decided to take a photo of it and shared it online. Suddenly, the Tampines Town Council and the MP for the area took interest in it.

The thing is, this koi pond have been around for three years. And the Town Council and the MP didn't even know that it existed! Do you walk the grounds or not? Or MP Baey too busy updating his Instagram with his running photos?

And what's with this big hoo hah over whether they can keep the pond or not, the steps being public space and all that. Public space ah? So if strangers want to sit at those very steps at night to chi chat, the owner of the unit can't chase them away, right? The unit owner have no ownership over those stairs, remember?

Come on lah. We are already paying close to $300k-$400k on average for a HDB flat already, yet we don’t have the freedom to design our own house and it’s not like the owner’s fish tank is obstructing or creating any nuisance to the neighbours. In other countries, $200k can get a landed property or a land and the owners get to do anything they want. Yet our HDB only has 99 years and we can’t even do what we yearn for after slogging for years to pay for a small tiny unit that belongs to the government.
