A 56 year old lady just graduated with a degree in electrical and electronic engineering from our very own Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Choo Siew Eng celebrated this milestone with her son by her side. She graduated 40 years after she started work as a technician with only her 'O' Levels. She decided to go back to school after retirement since her kids have all grown up.

She has two kids - a 30 year old son and a 25 year old daughter.

From her experience, she said:

“NTU has taught me to think deeper and look at things from multiple perspectives before coming up with solutions. It’s taught me to think out of the box to solve problems.”

Kudos to her! She is indeed an inspiration to many out there, trying to get a degree. You can see NTU's full post here:

As Singapore's National Day is coming, majority of our neighbourhoods are being decorated with our national flag.

In Tampines today, an upside down flag was spotted by netizen Nabil.

An unexploded war relic, suspected to be from world war II was found at a construction site at Geylang lor 23, near Aljunied MRT today. The explosive ordnance Disposal team from Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) was seen cordoning the area. 

According to CNA, the war relic was not live. Contractors have been instructed to get third-party contractors to safely remove the relic. As of 2pm, the relic has not been removed.

Luckily it was not live and nothing happened. Can you imagine the damage that will be done if it goes off and damage the nearby buildings and MRT tracks?

FB user نوريسليندا محمد‎ is currently looking for her daughter who has been missing since 15th July 2019 at 10:30PM. Her daughter was last seen wearing blue flower romper with pattern, black covered shoes and a sling bag.

This chiobu has a weird habit that has made members of the public very concerned - she likes to chillax at dangerous places.

According to reports, she was seen at Block 4 Tanjong Pagar Plaza and Blk 333 Kreta Ayer, on 15 July.

A family also witnessed her sitting on the ledge at the 19th storey of Blk 333, at 7pm.

As they were concerned that she might consider jumping, they advised her to not be reckless. She reportedly tried to allay their concerns by telling them that she was merely there to chill, and not to commit suicide.

When she was told to come down from the ledge, she complied, only to do the same thing on the 18th floor.

Amanda Jillian Toh made a query with Singapore Police Force, asking if a person holding a certain pass can threaten a civilian.

In the post she person wrote,

Hi. Are those holding onto this kind of pass allowed to use it to threaten a civilian? Even if the civilian has not even committed a crime? They are allowed to do this and abuse this pass????

As usual, the police requested her to file a report instead.

In response she said that she had made a report and an investigation officer told her over the phone that 'it isn't considered a threat or abuse'. 

"From what I know, even police officers who are not on duty, are not allowed to abuse their pass this way. So is there a double standard in the SPF?"

"He was just unhappy with me and used this card to threaten me, the usual, report us for 'talking back' to the 'police', etc.. When we were talking about personal matter."

Amanda claimed that she has not committed any crime therefore unsure why the man treated her the way he did.

She was told by netizens that the 'man' was actually a retiree based on the picture of the card.
