Oops! Coffee Bean Singapore carelessly used China Navy Soldier in their SAF Day's special poster.

On the left is the poster that they recently shared on Facebook and received several negative comments. On the right is a photo of the People’s Liberation Army Navy AKA China’s naval forces.

See that similar uniform?

If you are not convinced, this is the original photo used by CB.

No wonder it is not uncommon that Singaporeans themselves call our country Chinapore.

(PS: CB has since apologised for their mistake.)

A concerned neighbour, Ram, came home and noticed this unusual sight.

Ram was not sure how long she has been sitting by the window and what she was trying to do.

According to Ram, he could not believe it that no one saw her sitting by the window, even after he called the Police and firefighters.

Subsequently, the Police and firefighters came to rescue her.

In his comments, Ram felt good about saving a life.

Great job, Ram!

In response to a statement made by PM Lee, Pink Dot SG openly invited him on a Facebook post to go to Pink Dot 11 so that he can listen and learn from the community.

Lee Hsien Loong said:

“You know our rules in Singapore. Whatever your sexual orientation, you are welcome to come and work in Singapore,” he said. “But this has not inhibited people from living, and has not stopped Pink Dot from having a gathering every year. “It is the way this society is: We are not like San Francisco, neither are we like some countries in the Middle East. (We are) something in between, it is the way the society is.”

Pink Dot responded that they disagreed with him. You can read their full post here:

Despite the invitation to join Pink Dot this year, he was of course nowhere to be seen.

His brother, however, turned up with the family to show support of the event and his son, Li Huan Wu, who got married with Dr Heng Yirui in South Africa this year.

Great to see the whole family supporting the cause! Will our Prime Minister ever attend Pink Dot to listen to what they have to say?

A woman, Giselle Kyau, wrote a Facebook post regarding her experience with Johor's immigration officer. Kyau was with a Singaporean friend when the incident occured.

Her Singaporean friend didn't have an arrival stamp in her passport, which led to the officer asking for $50 to settle the issue when she tried to leave the country. The officer allegedly gave them two options, to spend $33 to call the police or just spend $50 to settle the issue.

Kyau implied that the officer appeared to be experienced in asking for bribes. She claims that she was 100% sure the officer did the deed on purpose. She also asked everybody to check their passports for chops when arriving in the country to avoid such problems and apologized to her Singaporean friend.

We all know by now that if you're pregnant, old, with child or injured, you are given more priority to sit on the priority seats in our MRT. But who is more deserving of sitting in the priority seats? Does a old person deserve to sit more than a injured young man?

A Redditporean took to Reddit to ask this question after being scolded by other commuters. u/daphnesca suffers from hairline fractures from a car driving over her foot. Daphnesca currently has to wear a boot cast due to the injury. A boot cast looks something like this:

bootcast

Unfortunately for Daphnesca, an old lady came over to ask for her seat. When Daphnesca refused, the old auntie started grumbling about how the younger generation has no respect for the elderly (you know, the usual).

Scarred from the incident, Daphnesca decided to sit on a normal, un-prioritized seat on her next ride. Again, unfortunately, a man in office attire asked Daphnesca to move to the priority seat as he was being denied a seat. Daphnesca was no doubt frustrated from these incidents and turned to Reddit to ask where she's supposed to sit.

Do you think that the priority seating on trains has brought about more problems than actually helping those in need?

Where do I sit?

A month back, a car drove over my foot and ended up with hairline fractures so I am stuck in this walker boot cast thing. (Think robot cop leg).

Decided to take train back home yesterday since I ended work early and I got an empty priority seat. Sat down and immediately this old lady asked me for my seat. I was like "Auntie, I need the seat too, my leg pain." She replied "Aiya, you so young, need this seat for what? This seat for old people!" I pointed to the sign of the figure in the cast. "It is for people like me too." She got pissed off and started grumbling about how young people have no respect for old people.

Today, I decided not to risk any old people's entitlement and sat away from the priority seat. This office guy came in at City Hall, and asked me to move over to the priority seat. Cue my confusion, I just shook my head no and he told me that I should be sitting in the priority seat and that I was denying him a normal seat.

Seriously, where you want me to sit?!

Tl;Dr - fractured leg, sat at priority seat. Got scolded. Sat away from priority also Kena. How like that?

Been taking Grab to and fro work most of the time and don't ask for priority seat if I am taking the train even though the leg is hurting like hell if I stand too long.

Many of us have thousands in our CPF account which we can't touch until we hit the age requirement.

A netizen, Lim Koh Leong, went on to Facebook to rant about how he is unable to take out $15,000 out of his current $70,000 to pay for his daughter's school fees as his salary does not reach the requirements.

Lim mentioned that he is 60 with an unable job which makes it difficult for him to gather the needed cash for his daughter's education. He tried to apply for a withdrawal but was met with rejection from the staff at CPF.

Needless to say, Lim felt cheated and angry that his hard earned money is stuck in his CPF and is unable to pay for his daughter's school fees.

Why is our government so hell bent on keeping our money, even when w have real need for it?
