After 6 long years, the owners of Kim Eng Mini Supermarket located in Yishun have finally lost their patience with a unrepentant thief.
In a Facebook post, the owners posted CCTV evidence of the alleged thief in action. The thief, a woman, can be seen paying for less items than she actually took. In all, it took the thief less than two minutes to carry out the theft.
The owners urged the thief to contact or those who know her to contact them at 92358108.
They want her to own up and pay for what she has stolen from the shop.
If she does not come forward by 14 July 2019, the owners will have no choice but to lodge a police report.
The shop is giving her a chance to make restitution. If you know her, do help your family member/friend to the right thing.
Transport Minister, $8 heart bypass minister said in Parliament on 8 July that there will be a need in the future to review the formula which transport fares are determined to reflect the increasing costs of operating Singapore's MRT system.
Khaw told the Parliament
As the fares paid by commuters do not cover operating costs, the rail companies are operating at a loss. In the latest reported financial year, SMRT Trains incurred a loss of $86 million. SBS Transit’s train division also lost tens of millions of dollars.
Many netizens have also questioned how the increased running cost has also resulted in increased record profits for SBS transit.
His talk about reviewing the formula comes after his talk on Friday which he said that the train reliability has improved and the NS Line is now as reliable as Hong Kong's MTR and Taipei's subway. However, just on Saturday, the Bukit Panjang LRT line broke down again.
Maybe he should just shut his mouth and pray that nothing breaks down.
A netizen questioned the Guardian Pharmacy's expired product policies after she was sold a supplement that had expired for about two months. The woman alleged that she had suffered allergic reaction from consuming the expired supplement.
She bought the Blackmores Sleep Sound Formula from the Guardian outlet at Lot One on 20 June 2019. She took the pills according to the accompanying instructions.
After developing an allergic reaction, the netizen had to seek medical treatment on 23 June 2019 after. It was then that she realised that the supplements had already expired on 26 April 2019.
Concerned, she returned to the shop only to find out that there were similarly expired supplements still being sold.
The staff at the shop was also not reassuring and merely offered to replace her product.
This is a seriuos allegation that the HSA and CASE needs to look at. The consumption of expired suplements may have a negative effect on the health of the consumer.
In this case, it has expired for two months and were still allegedly being sold at the outlet when the customer returned to confront them about it.
Cost pressures and concerns must not come at the expense of the health of the consumer. Any careless or intended sale of such expired items must be addressed proportianately, and adequately.
Suriia Das works as an Operations Manager, and has resorted to borrowing money from moneylenders, his family, friends, company and even turned to crowdfunding to fund his wife's cancer treatment.
47 year-old Sarojini Jayapal suffers from Stage 4 Ovarian cancer which was diagnosed in 2016.
In the interview with RAVision, a human rights broadcast system by lawyer M Ravi, Suriia Das mentioned that he brought his wife to Mount Elizabeth hospital for help. After hearing about the news of cancer, they went to the National University Hospital (NUH) for a second opinion. However, NUH turned them away. They had no choice but to go back to Mount Elizabeth as they were the only ones who wanted to help Suriia and his wife.
Both their medisave account has since been drained and the husband's appeal to use the money from his ordinary/special CPF accounts have been rejected. M Ravi has agreed to help the couple pro bono.
M Ravi said that
This case engages section 18(d) of the CPF Act which allows, for example, a CPF member like Suriia to transfer a portion of his monies from his Ordinary and Special accounts to his loved one’s account
this discretion is subject to the CPF Board’s policy that it allows only for the transfer to be made to someone, or the loved one, to be of 55-years of age and above
to impose a minimum age like in this case of a loved one suffering from cancer would be irrational in the administrative law sense and hence the policy is unlawful
He also mentioned that this policy deprives Sarojini of her right to life guaranteed under Article 9 of the Constitution.

All the money in the world can't make the husband happy if the wife is dying. Why not let him use his CPF monies which is supposed to be his in the first place?

"Dear fellow BMW owners, it’s about time I knowledge the owner of the vehicle SLX27E. I’m the owner. Throughout this period I have been keeping my silence and resolving the issue. The fact is that my previous car plate was SKD2772R. And during the period of 2017. A wrong plate was made. During the earlier part of 2018 I bidded and changed my number to SLX27E. On the day of the incident while entering malaysia. I was stopped by the Malaysian police for have chrome reflective plates. After the so call “warning” I was informed that there are more police in front. I do have several sets of my old SKD2772 and SKD27 and also the wrong made plates in my boot. Thus, at the petrol station. I tried to change the plates. However, due to the fuel line blocking. I taken the front 27 and the back 2777 by mistake. I was also looking at the person taking the photos thus didn’t notice I made the mistake. I was only informed about the incident when I was at KL on the evening. And my main concern was to send my Wife safely back to Singapore. Once back in Singapore I personally and immediately when to LTA to admit the mistake. The investigations are still on going. There after, I also decided to come into JB to admit my mistake to JPJ. JPJ decision was that I can still enter malaysia and no actions will be taken against me. However, if I want to clear the issue. I will have to be charged in court. It was a difficult decision however I decided to do so. And informed the officers in JPJ to proceed with the charges. I have no intention to harm or cheat. It’s a hard lesson learned. And I will have to face the punishment. Sorry guys if I have brought shame to the group or the brand. But 27 is a number I will never give up as its the birthday of my daughter. I was also advised by LTA and JPJ to change my number however I state again that I have no intention to cheat Nor harm anyone. It’s sincerely a mistake. Thank you and most remosfully Gordon."
