A viral video taken showed a rude lady caught throwing insults to a group of movers that presumably she engaged with.

In the beginning, the lady can be seen counting money while seated on her furniture.

The focus was on her and it is not known if she was aware that she was being recorded.

The movers likely wanted her to quickly end the transaction so that they can leave her apartment.

Some of the things she said on the video if you missed it.

"I have to count the money, later i over-give it to you."

Wow totally uncalled for right?

you are nobody, get own car, you do what? cannot even do anything, help people carry furniture only

When looking down on being a mover is not enough, she started making personal attacks and called them stupid and gong gong just because they are not well educated.

She even said she is successful and that the movers are not, when they mentioned about her using two phones. She then called them "such a failure".

Afterwards, the lady started throwing mother insults.. yucks.

Doesnt matter who you are, rich or poor, educated or not educated, it does not give you the right to insult people this wayw

PS: this is just a one sided story and we don't know the side of the rude lady.

PM Lee sent a letter to Terry Xu, the Editor of The Online Citizen (TOC) to remove an article titled 'PM Lee’s wife, Ho Ching weirdly shares article on cutting ties with family members' and the Facebook posting on their Facebook.

In the letter, they mentioned that

"The Article and the Post repeat several false allegations against PM Lee that were previously made by his sister, Dr Lee Wei Ling. In particular, they allege that PM Lee misled his father, the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew, into thinking that the 38 Oxley Road property had been gazetted by the Singapore Government, and that it was futile for Mr Lee Kuan Yew to keep his direction to demolish it.

PM Lee thereby allegedly caused Mr Lee Kuan Yew, who had originally wanted to demolish the house, to consider other alternatives to demolition, and to change his will to bequeath the house to PM Lee."

The letter also mentioned that PM Lee has CHOSEN not to sue his siblings. as it would 'further besmirch his parents’ names'. However, he would sue them if it ever becomes necessary.

PM Lee also made clear to Parliament that under any other circumstances, he would have sued immediately, and that his decision not to sue his siblings then did not mean that he would not ever take legal action, should this become necessary.

Terry Xu is given until 4 September to remove both the article and the Facebook post.

“1 September 2019

Mr Terry Xu Chief Editor
The Online Citizen

Dear Sir

DEFAMATION

1. I am writing on behalf of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in connection with false allegations in:

(a) an article entitled “PM Lee’s wife, Ho Ching weirdly shares article on cutting ties with family members” on your website (at https://www.theonlinecitizen.com/2019/08/15/pm-lees-wife-ho-ching- weirdly-shares-article-on-cutting-ties-with-family-members/) (the Article”); and

(b) a Facebook post on the “timeline” of your Facebook profile page containing a link to the Article (at https://www.facebook.com/theonlinecitizen/posts/on-wednesday-14-aug-ho-ching-the-wife-of-prime-minister-lee-hsien-loong-lhl-took/10157577806071383/) (the “Post”).

2. The Article and the Post repeat several false allegations against PM Lee that were previously made by his sister, Dr Lee Wei Ling. In particular, they allege that PM Lee misled his father, the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew, into thinking that the 38 Oxley Road property had been gazetted by the Singapore Government, and that it was futile for Mr Lee Kuan Yew to keep his direction to demolish it.

PM Lee thereby allegedly caused Mr Lee Kuan Yew, who had originally wanted to demolish the house, to consider other alternatives to demolition, and to change his will to bequeath the house to PM Lee.

3. These allegations are completely without foundation. In July 2017, after his siblings made similar allegations, and accused PM Lee and his Government of abuse of power, PM Lee gave a full explanation on these matters
in Parliament.

He reaffirmed that Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s personal wish was for the 38 Oxley Road property to be demolished after his passing. However, after hearing Cabinet’s unanimous views that the property should not be demolished, Mr Lee eventually came to accept that the Government was likely to preserve the property in the public interest. He was consequently prepared to be flexible and contemplate options short of demolition.

With the rest of the family’s knowledge, he approved plans to redevelop/renovate 38 Oxley Road to remove the private spaces.

4. The Article and Post also make other false allegations. One such false allegation is that after it was revealed to Mr Lee in late 2013 that the 38 Oxley Road property had in fact not been gazetted, he removed PM Lee as an executor and trustee of his will.

The truth is Mr Lee had not included PM Lee as an executor and trustee in any of his wills from 2011 onwards. Mr Lee had explained to PM Lee that he did not want to put PM Lee in a difficult position, if the Government were to acquire the property and his siblings took issue over the compensation.

5. These allegations in the Article and Post are libellous. PM Lee has chosen thus far not to sue his siblings. As he told Parliament, suing them would further besmirch his parents’ names, and was therefore not his preferred course of action.

6. PM Lee also made clear to Parliament that under any other circumstances, he would have sued immediately, and that his decision not to sue his siblings then did not mean that he would not ever take legal action, should this become necessary.

7. However, PM Lee’s restraint in suing his siblings should not be misinterpreted by others as free licence to repeat and spread false and defamatory allegations against him, as the Article and Post have done. He has to rebut and deal publicly with such scurrilous attacks on his integrity and character, if necessary through legal action. This is especially as such attacks are also directed at his fitness to hold office as Prime Minister and to lead the Government.

8. The Article and the Post continue to appear on your website and Facebook timeline. PM Lee asks that you remove both immediately, and publish within three days, i.e. by 4 September 2019, a full and unconditional apology, plus an undertaking not to publish any similar allegations, prominently on your website (at https://www.theonlinecitizen.com/) and on your Facebook timeline (at https://www.facebook.com/theonlinecitizen/).

9. Should you decide not to take the opportunity afforded to you by paragraph 8, PM Lee will have no choice but to hand the matter over to his lawyers to sue to enforce his full rights in law.

Yours sincerely

Chang Li Lin (Ms)
Press Secretary to the Prime Minister”

Andrew Gosling, an Australia national, was charged in caught for causing a death by performing a rash act.

The victim, 73 year old Nasiari Sunee, was strucked on the head by a wine bottle allegedly thrown by Gosling, causing a head injurt which led to his death.

One would fully understand if the family members bear a grudge against Gosling.

While they struggled to accept his demise, the family bears no ill-will towards the accused.

Writing on his own Facebook profile, the nephew of the deceased said:

So there is no need for us to now turn it into bitterness by rejoicing in his plight and predicament. Being vengeful just means stirring more hatred and truly there is already enough of that going on around the world.

Let it be known that we take pride ourselves as Muslims who are raised to never do onto others what we do not want others to do onto us. And .... That we do not hate but rather we seek to put the wrong to be right.

We may have lost a fatherly figure but we certainly do not want to take that same role figure away from his family.

For now, just let this case be best decided by the laws and regulations within our country because no amount of time or years spend in jail or for whatever amount of fine imposed can ever equate to losing the loved one we buried last week

Even in this time of grief, the family has demonstrated so much courage to protect the accused.

Would you trust Scoot to bring you to where you want to be for your honeymoon? Definitely not me. And definitely not this guy's friends. But Ashley Mok still decided to #supportlocal (Singapore Airlines also local but ok whatever).

They made their booking a year in advance. However, they met with multiple reschedules and change in flights/transit locations. They were also downgraded from business class seats to economy seats as the new flight they were flying on did not have business class seats WITHOUT any compensation.

Mok reiterated the solutions given to him by scoot:

1) 100% refund - Useless because flights are so much more expensive at this late hour compared to November last year.
2) Rebooking of flight to days with ScootBiz flights - Originally, they suggested this BUT we would have to pay the fare difference from the current pricing. Absolutely ridiculous. Post complaint, they offered it at zero cost. Still unacceptable because we would need to pay 2 more nights of accommodation and take extra leave to fit their schedule.
3) We continue on the rescheduled flight and Scoot refunds 30% of the return flight cost + 200 per passenger in service recovery vouchers - The refund and service recovery vouchers barely cover the cost differential of economy vs business seats. This option tells me FlyScoot has zero interest in making their customers lives better, just covering up their mistake.

Welp. What a nightmare. I definitely wouldn't want my honeymoon to be ruined by such things. Not that he has a choice now. While I do believe in #supportlocal, but I guess you still have to pick and choose what local companies you should support. Hope nothing else goes wrong with his trip though.

A concerned Singaporean parent Emmeline Yuen-O'Sullivan posted on her Facebook wondering why the Pigeon branded childrens toothpaste meant for babies and kids contained, she alleged, numerous harmful cancer-causing chemicals such as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben and Carageenan.

She remarked that children would undoubtedly swallow the toothpaste and wouldn't it be harmful to their well-being especially after prolonged usage?

When the concerned mum shared in popular parent support Facebook group ParentsCode (Singapore), the same anxiety over the use of such alleged harmful chemicals was evident among the parents who replied. Many of whom suggested using more expensive organic products such as Jack & Jill toothpaste, Weleda Children's Tooth Gel or the Little Innoscents toothpaste which do not contain the said chemicals.

There were some who expressed doubts over "harmful" effects of these said chemicals and suggested the parent contact Pigeon to get clarification on the matter if she was worried. Most parents however would rather err on the side of caution and just avoid such products just to be safe, in typical Singaporean fashion.

What do you think? Can the quality control of these big brands be trusted 100% or will you choose to be safe than sorry?

DFS Group is from the US and has been at Changi airport for 38 years. The CEO and Chairman Ed Brennan cites "changing regulations concerning the sale of liquor and tobacco, against a global context of geopolitical uncertainty, meant that staying in Changi was not a financially viable option" as their reason for withdrawing from Changi Airport.

Hundreds of staff working at DFS Changi might also be losing their jobs from this withdrawal.

However, three other companies have already put in their bid to take over DFS. They are: Lotte Duty Free, Shilla Duty Free and Heineman Duty Free. Hopefully, the company taking over DFS will have job vacancies for those from DFS Changi. As long as we can continue to get our tobacco and alcohol when we get through our arrival gates, I'm sure many of us will have no complaints about who takes over.
