An accident involving two taxis took place at Toa Payoh Central on Monday afternoon, April Fool's Day. But no one's fooling around in this accident, as one of the taxis ended up going to the foot of a HDB block near the accident scene.

A 62 year old taxi driver was taken to hospital, in the accident that happened at a taxi stand in Toa Payoh along a service road. It was understood that the accident happened about 12:14pm, and one of the taxi ended up at the foot of HDB block 175. There was an NTUC trolley seen under the cab, but thankfully, no passers-by were hurt in the accident.

Police confirmed that the accident only involved the two taxis, and that investigations are still ongoing.

On 1 Apr 2019, Tan Cheng Bock made a new Facebook post on his page announcing that Progress Singapore Party has now been formally registered. The last thing for them to do before launching the party is to submit a party symbol for formal approval. This step is only possible after being formally registered.

Dr Tan Cheng Bock says that he will let his supporters know when the symbol goes through, so that they can all celebrate together.

Will you be celebrating together with him? Congratulations to Dr Tan Cheng Bock and his party. We hope that his new party will bring progress to Singapore. For country, for people.

Progress Singapore Party is registered
For country, For people

I am pleased to share that our party "Progress Singapore Party" has been formally registered but we still have to submit our party symbol for formal approval. This submission is only possible after formal registration. This will be the last step before we launch the party. I will let you know when the time comes so that you can celebrate with us.

It has been a long journey for us and I thank all in my team who have worked so hard to make it possible.

Over the last few day, I had breakfast at Clementi Shopping Center, Clementi Mall and 7th Mile @ Bukit Timah. When we eat, fellow Singaporeans will often stop by our table to encourage us to keep working for Singapore. It is little acts like these that spur us to keep pressing on for the good of our country and our people.

Li ShengWu, Son of Lee Hsien Yang, provided an update on his case. He noted that while the Attorney General of Singapore did not succeed in getting new rules to be retroactively applied in his contempt of court case. However, the case will still proceed due to a ruling from the court that the process service on him was effective.

He expressed that he was disappointed with the judgment but the Attorney General would still have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that his private facebook post somehow scandalised Singapore's judiciary.

Li Sheng Wu is now an assistant professor of Economics at Harvard University and currently resides in the United States. He recounted on his Facebook post that this 'surreal mess' has been ongoing since one year and eight months ago and wonders how much of our nation resources have been spent going after his mother and himself. He also ended the post by saying that his uncle, our prime minister, "seems quite happy with the situation".

We can only wonder how much time, money and effort from our nation resources has been put into a private Facebook post by him. Does it not sound ridiculous that our Prime Minister have to go through such lengths to get to his nephew and sister-in-law?

You can read Li Sheng Wu's full post here:

An update on my case: The Singapore AG’s attempts to retroactively apply new rules were not successful before the court. However, the court has nonetheless ruled that service of process on me was effective. The case will now move on to substantive arguments.

I am of course disappointed with the judgement. However, the AG will still need to prove beyond reasonable doubt that my private facebook post somehow scandalised Singapore’s judiciary.

It is now one year and 8 months since this surreal mess started. One wonders how much state resources have been spent going after myself and my mother? As far as I can tell, my uncle, Lee Hsien Loong, seems quite happy with the situation, even though it reminds everyone of his shameful conduct over 38 Oxley road.

The data leaks in Singapore shows no signs ab abetting, as yet another personal data breach occurred. This time, the personal information of more than 800,000 blood donors was put online improperly for two months, was accessed illegally, and was possibly even stolen.

It was initially though that only one breach occurred, but it later transpired that a vendor from HSA also noticed suspicious activity, and it was found the data was being accessed suspiciously from many IP addresses between October and March this year. It was not stated if these IP addresses are local or foreign in origin.

The information of the data leaks include donors' blood type, height, weight and the dates of their last three donations. HSA have said that they are aware of the breach, and that police are investigating.

A cancer patient, who was diagnosed late for her cancer by CGH, has died on Monday morning before she can get payment as part of a settlement with CGH for their negligence. Ms Noor Azlin Abdul Rahman was 39 years old, and suffered from fourth stage lung cancer.

The Court of Appeal had found the hospital negligent in its care and directed CGH "to consider the possibility of settlement in the interests of expediency and resolution" back in February. The hearing was scheduled for April 1, but Ms Noor died on the same day before the trial could commence. It was revealed that radiologists had twice  recommended follow-up appointments after X-rays of her chest were done. But both these recommendations were dismissed by the doctors involved.

The two doctors names who made the decisions, or why they made them, were not make public.

If a sales person shouts for you to come back as you have not paid for an item after you paid and left the shop, would you be embarrassed? Maybe. But would you get angry because of the incident and start taking a video of the sales person? Most likely not. We would explain the situation nicely to the sales person and be on our way.

Not for this particular video taker. She alleges that the sales person was shouting after her even though she has already paid for the item. Because of how "malu" she felt, she decided to start videoing the sales person and started to berate her. Is this fair?

Her Youtube video description writes:

I bought a pair of shoes from Skechers, Nex outlet. I brought it to exchange the size of the same shoe at Singapore Post Centre 2 days later. The skinny lady was very rude. She ran out of her shop, shouting and pointing finger at my mother " come back! You have not paid for your shoes!" It was off work time around 6pm on Friday, 1 Feburary. She made my mother embarrass by accusing my mother of stealing. Her colleague then came out of the shop to apologise. But this incident had create a very bad mental effect on my mother. I hope viewers will alert on this matter and beware of that skinny lady.

Relax la. Misunderstanding only right?
